Harmonized tariff is the legal text of the Harmonized
Tariff Schedule, as amended and modified with the
statistical annotations pursuant to section 484(f)
of the Tariff Act of 1930. It contains all provisions
enacted by Congress or proclaimed by the President.
These include the General Rules of Interpretation
(GRI), General Notes, Section and Chapter notes
and headings and subheadings through the 8-digit
level of Chapter 1-99. It includes the article description,
tariff rates and special tariff programs.

FDA's role is to protect the public health and to
assure the safety and health of the consumer. The
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) enforces the
Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic (FD&C) Act
and other laws which are designed to protect consumers'
health, safety, and pocketbook. Most foods, drugs,
biologics, cosmetics, medical devices, and electronic
products that emit radiation, as defined in the
FD&C and related Acts, are subject to examination
by FDA when they are being imported or offered for
import into the United States.
Animal and Plant Health Inspection

out wildlife management activities. Their mission
is to provide Americans with safe and affordable

International Trade Administration

International Trade Administration is an independent,
nonpartisan, quasi-judicial federal agency that
provides trade expertise to the legislative and
executive branches of the US government. Their function
is to administer US trade remedy laws, maintain
the HTSU, and provide the President, Congress and
USTR with independent information and support regarding
matters of tariffs and international trade competitiveness.
The World Trade Organization

WTO is a global organization established in 1995
created by the Uruguay Round negotiations and located
in Geneva, Switzerland. Their mission is to negotiate
and administer trade agreements and worldwide tariff.

They compile data based on the traded commodities
from documents collected by US Customs and Border
Protection. Foreign Trade Statistics Regulations
(FTSR) requires exporters to comply with reporting
requirements for mandatory AES filing and paper

Their mission is to advance US national security,
foreign policy and economic interests. BIS regulates
the export of sensitive goods and technology, enforcing
export control, antiboycott and other public safety
laws.
The Wassenaar Arrangement

Established to create regional and international
security and stability by promoting transparency
and greater responsibility in transfers of conventional
arms and dual-use goods and technologies. Participating
States will seek, through their national policies,
to ensure that transfers of dual-use goods do not
contribute to the development or enhancement of
military capabilities and are not diverted to support
such capabilities.

The Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC),
Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, in accordance
with §§ 38-40 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA)
(22 U.S.C. 2778-2780) and the International Traffic
in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 C.F.R. Parts 120-130),
is charged with controlling the export and temporary
import of defense articles and defense services
covered by the United States Munitions List (USML).
Their primary mission is managing license application
for defense trade exports and handling matters related
to defense trade compliance, enforcement, and reporting.
