"Post
9/11 has brought new challenges for
importers and exporters. Customs and
Border Protection has discussed the
probability of more terrorist attacks,
risk assessment, the cost of security
and the most cost effective security
solutions.
The Bureau
of Industry and Security feel their
crucial role is to deny terrorists and
proliferators some of the tools they
need to develop weapons of mass destruction.
Both agencies
seek to balance trade and security and
yet not allow our nation to become complacent
and ever lose sight that we must continue
to build a global trading system against
terrorism."
